A very peaceful place- great for personal spiritual retreat and they have some excellent teaching days too. The gardens are pretty and there's a stream at the bottom. It is situated right next to the Church- which is great to walk around- the stained glass is beautiful and it was lovely to read about its history.
There are country walks to do- just on the doorstep and a small but cozy village pub.

The food was good and the chaplains were very hospitable and caring. I wasn't in an en suite room and none of the communal showers were working properly due to a temporary plumbing issue so that made things difficult. However I still enjoyed my stay.

An amazing day that has helped to guide me on my spiritual journey with fantastic insights.
An utter oasis of calm and tranquillity that nurtures spirit and body (with fantastic food!).
I will definitely go back when possible. This was my first experience of a retreat, it should be 'prescribed' for mental, physical and spiritual health.
Thank you

It was a very peaceful place where we were able to think and examine our own thoughts and feelings.
Also the staff were very friendly and welcoming.

A deeply contemplative space in the quiet village of Pleshey, Essex. Wonderful for personal Quiet Days and Retreats. Strong association with Evelyn Underhill. Also a lovely, non institutional location to organise a group retreat.

Twenty years ago I took my first retreat at this wonderful place. It is as good today as it was then - indeed, in ways material, it is far better. We know God is always with us, but you really feel his presence here.
